Say 'Pearson BTEC' — here's why
BTEC stands for the Business and Technology Education Council, and the qualifications are awarded by Pearson, the UK education company. We say Pearson BTEC deliberately because a separate, unrelated local organisation trades as "BTEC Islamabad" (bteci.org.pk). Only the Pearson BTEC is the internationally recognised, IBCC-equivalent qualification — so the "Pearson" label keeps you safe from a costly mix-up.
A vocational, applied qualification
Pearson BTEC is a vocational qualification: instead of one big final exam, you complete a series of assessed units made of coursework, projects and practical assignments. That makes it a good fit for students who learn best by doing and building real work, rather than by revising for a single exam day.
How the levels work
BTEC qualifications exist at several levels on the UK framework. The Level 3 — the one Kindl TEC teaches — sits at the same level as A-Levels and is the post-16 qualification that the IBCC can equate to HSSC. Higher up, Level 4/5 is the Higher National Diploma (HND), which falls under HEC rather than the IBCC. We keep those levels and authorities clearly separate on the IBCC equivalence page.
